Pan American Riders Safety Policies

- Participant Requirements
- Driving License: All participants must have a valid motorcycle license for high-displacement motorcycles. The license must be presented at the time of booking.
- Experience: Participants must have experience riding high-displacement motorcycles and be comfortable riding on challenging terrains.
- Physical and Mental Condition: Participants must be in appropriate physical and mental condition to ride for long periods and in varying road conditions. It is mandatory to disclose any relevant medical conditions.
- Protective Gear
- Helmet: Wearing a helmet is mandatory throughout the tour. Pan American Riders will provide certified helmets for one-day tours, but for extended tours, it is recommended that participants bring their own helmet.
- Protective Clothing: Basic protective gear (jacket and gloves) will be provided for one-day tours. For multi-day tours, it is recommended that participants bring their own personal protective equipment that meets safety standards.
- Weather Conditions
- Weather Risks: Weather conditions on tour routes may vary considerably, so participants should be prepared for rain, strong winds, extreme temperatures, and more.
- Adverse Conditions: In the event of extreme or dangerous weather conditions (storms, snowfalls, etc.), Pan American Riders reserves the right to modify, cancel, or postpone the tour for safety reasons.
- Routes and Terrain
- Uneven Terrain: Motorcycle tours include routes on uneven terrain, with unpaved roads, sharp curves, and steep slopes. Participants should be prepared to ride on these types of roads.
- Route Conditions: Participants must follow the guide’s instructions and avoid making decisions that may jeopardize their own safety or that of others.
- Participant Behavior
- Safe Riding: All participants are expected to maintain a defensive riding style and adhere to local traffic rules.
- Speed: Participants must adhere to the speed limits recommended by the tour guide, avoiding risky maneuvers or reckless behavior.
- Alcohol and Drugs: The consumption of alcohol or drugs during the tour is strictly prohibited. Any participant under the influence of prohibited substances will be immediately excluded from the tour without a refund.
- Emergencies and Medical Assistance
- Emergency Procedures: In case of a medical emergency or accident, the tour guide will take necessary measures, including coordinating with local emergency services.
- Medical Evacuation: In case of serious injuries, a medical evacuation procedure will be in place according to the participant’s insurance. Pan American Riders is not responsible for any additional costs related to evacuations or medical care.
- First Aid Kit: All tours will carry a basic first aid kit for minor emergencies.
- Group Safety
- Guided Tour: All tours are led by an experienced guide trained in first aid and emergency management.
- Group Size: To ensure safety, groups will be limited in size, and participants are expected to stay within the group throughout the ride.
- Continuous Monitoring: Pan American Riders continuously monitors route conditions and the well-being of participants throughout the tour.
- Safety Evaluation
- Pre-Tour Safety Evaluation: A brief safety evaluation will be conducted with all participants before each tour, covering aspects such as gear use, route conditions, and riding rules.
- Clear Instructions: Participants will receive clear instructions on how to act in case of emergencies and the importance of following the guide’s instructions to maintain safety throughout the tour.
- Participant Responsibility
- Commitment to Safety: Participants must commit to following all safety policies and measures to ensure their well-being and that of others.
- Liability Waiver: All participants will be required to sign a liability waiver before the tour, acknowledging their understanding of the inherent risks of the activity.
